The Leonard M Kokkila Center for Economic Education is a community outreach program of Robert Morris University promoting economic education in Beaver, Fayette, Greene and Washington counties.
The Center is affiliated with:
National Council on Economic Education
EconomicsPennsylvania
Economics America is the National Council for Economic Educations comprehensive economic education program.
The purpose of EconomicsAmerica is to prepare students to become:

Productive members of the workforce;

Responsible citizens;
-
Knowledgeable consumers;
-
Prudent savers and investors;
-
Effective participants in the global economy; and
-
Competent decision makers throughout their lives.
The Leonard M Kokkila Center for Economic Education provides a variety of services to promote the development of critical thinking skills. The services include:

Teacher training through economic workshops and seminars;

Technical assistance in curriculum development and the implementation of standards and assessment instruments appropriate for individual school districts;

The Stock Market Game;
-
Intensive partnerships with individual school districts;
-
The Business Plan Competition;
-
A resource center to provide instructional materials in economic education; and
-
Technical assistance in the development of financial literacy programs.
